Rick Moore

Being color-blind really changes your life. Rick didn’t set out to become a business technologist.  After his undergraduate degree, he went into Springs Industries Management Training Program, and realized an MBA was a requirement. Shortly, he found out that he was also color-blind and that textiles might not be his calling. While it didn’t keep him from receiving his MBA from Winthrop University, it did prompt a career change.

Rick used computers extensively in graduate school, and saw colorful opportunity applying automation to every challenge. Over the next ten years, this was rewarded with increased management responsibilities over the areas he automated.  After ten years, and helping two companies serving worldwide markets, he was finally convinced that a career in technology would better use his talents to help numerous clients implement state-of-the-art business systems.

Rick enjoyed tremendous success in application sales, but continued to get the most personal satisfaction from really digging into the client’s issues and challenging the implementation staffs to make the most of the change the clients were undergoing. To him, it is all about having flag waving clients.

Accomplishing this often means stepping out of the box of a technology implementation and really changing the business processes to maximize value.  Rick believes being around youth is key to staying young. If Rick weren’t in consulting, he’d be living in a college town teaching Business Management 530 and Mountain Biking 301.
